Breastfeeding Support in Your Community

There are many places where you can find support in your community:

1. Public Health Units (also referred to as departments or authorities) often have resources and support. Call your Public Health Unit in your area today to find out more.

2. Mother to Mother support groups such as La Leche League.

3. Telehealth is available throughout provinces in Canada and may be available in other countries.  Telehealth is a toll free number where you can speak to a healthcare professional or registered nurse. This service is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. (In Ontario breastfeeding advice is available at 1-866-797-0000).

4. In Canada, some provinces have additional ways of helping you access supports in your community. For instance, if you live in Ontario you can search for supports in your local community with the Ontario Breastfeeds search engine, visit http://ontariobreastfeeds.ca
